The short version: the numbers you type into our calculators never leave your device — every calculation runs in your browser and we have no server that receives, stores or sees them. The only data we collect is standard, aggregated website analytics.
Calculator inputs
All calculators on uktaxutility.co.uk run entirely client-side (in your browser, using JavaScript). Income figures, expenses and anything else you enter are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. Closing the page discards them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful — page views, approximate location (country/city level), device type and how visitors arrive. This uses cookies and similar identifiers set by Google. We do not use analytics to identify individuals, and we do not sell data to anyone. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies.
Advertising
We may show advertising (for example via Google AdSense or a similar network) to keep the tools free. Ad networks may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented. Where required, a consent banner lets you accept or reject these cookies, and you can also manage personalisation at Google's ad settings. Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up to a service — this never changes the price you pay, and it never changes a calculator's output.
If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it. We don't add you to any list without asking.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection over personal data we hold (which, in practice, is limited to email correspondence and aggregated analytics). Contact support@uktaxutility.co.uk to exercise them, and you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with our response.
